10:18am - Happy Wednesday! Feeling pretty good today – the sun is shining! Its still terribly cold, but the sunshine helps. Drug myself out of bed at 5:40 this morning (didn’t go to bed until nearly 11pm, yikes. Was playing with my phone looking for cool apps to download, lol), barely made it to 6am yoga. Nice class, just what I needed – lots of leg stretching.

Weigt is stalling right about 134.6 (my scale rounds everything to even decimals – I never get an odd decimal, so weird), I think I am hitting a plateau. Any suggestions on pushing through it? Was talking with hubby this morning, he suggested switching up my cardio, which is exactly what I was thinking. I am going to try to work in more elliptical training, and vary my treadmill routine more. The yoga has been good, but I am just using up the final session on my package, I don’t think I will buy another package. And I should do the Jillian Michaels – 30 Day Shred video again.

For breakfast I had a smoothie! I don’t remember the last time I had a smoothie, but I saw this recipe in Oxygen magazine’s Glutes special issue and thought I should try it.

“Green” Smoothie

1/2 cup spinach (I steamed it in the microwave for a minute and half to get maximum nutritional benefits)

1/2 cup mixed frozen berries

1/3 fat free plain Greek yogurt

1 scoop protein powder (i have a plethora of BSN’s Banana cream, so I used that)

1/4 cup skim milk

Place all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth. The smoothie isn’t actually green – it was more dark blue/purple from the blueberries and blackberries. Next time I am going to add some Chia seeds for added nutrition

11:10am – just ate some of the trail mix from the break room – bad Abby. Especially because I also had some of the imitation crab meat I brought from home to snack on (weird I know, but it was past its sell by date, and its good protein)

4:23pm – just downed a Kombucha - 60 calories (sugar) but so worth it. At least my 3pm meal was light – egg whites with veggies (under 150 calories), and a couple nuts. 10 days until Cancun, gotta keep focused!

Ingredients
1/3 cup fat free Greek yogurt
1/3 cup canned pumpkin
½ scoop vanilla or cinnamon protein powder
1 ½ tsp honey
1 tsp pumpkin pie spices

Mix all together in a bowl and enjoy! Good at room temperature or slightly heated.

Specifics on the ingredients:

Yogurt – right now I am loving Oikos Organic Greek Yogurt. Their vanilla flavor is only slightly sweetened, which I love. It would work great in this recipe; you could then decrease the amount of honey.

Pumpkin – careful not to get pumpkin pie filling, try Libby’s Pure Pumpkin

Protien powder – BSN’s Lean Dessert is not cheap, but it is very good, and has a great texture.
